Summary

  • Crashes reported in Pixel 10 apps
  • Issue seems to correlate with the October OS update
  • Clearing Google Play Services may resolve the crashes

Many owners of the Google Pixel 10 have been experiencing app crashes after the most recent software update.

As reported by Android Police, numerous users have taken to forums over the weekend to share their experiences with the software instability.

According to a Reddit user, “After the October update, all apps have started to crash randomly or freeze at the splash screen.” Users report seeing messages indicating that “[App name] isn’t responding.”

The issue appears to involve a variety of applications, including X, Spotify, and others, and is affecting all devices in the Pixel 10 lineup.

A standard reboot does not appear to resolve the problem, but a workaround has been identified.

Fixing the Pixel 10 App Crash Problem

A Reddit user known as PuzzleHeadedSquid suggests that uninstalling and then reinstalling Google Play Services and Google Play Store updates may help rectify the app crashing issue that arose after the October update.

This user reported no further crashes after following this method, indicating that the root cause might lie within the October Play Services update.

Others have also found success with this approach.

Additionally, some users mentioned that simply clearing the cache of the Google Play Store might resolve the issue, so it could be worth trying this first.

Be aware that clearing your Play Services data will sign you out of your Google account.
