Teens Arrested After Viral “Door Kick Challenge” Caught on Camera

Authorities in Florida captured the moment three teenagers were arrested for participating in the viral social media “door kick challenge” on a local home. The incident occurred on Nov. 23 when a homeowner contacted the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office to report a possible burglary in progress, stating that someone was attempting to kick their door in.

The homeowner expressed fear to an emergency operator, mentioning that they were prepared to open the door with a gun in hand. Fortunately, law enforcement arrived on the scene and found the three teens, dressed in dark clothing and gloves, hiding near the home. The teenagers, two aged 14 and one aged 13, were taken into custody.

During the arrest, an officer cautioned the teens about the potential consequences of their actions, emphasizing the danger of provoking armed homeowners. The incident highlights the risks associated with participating in such challenges, as homeowners may perceive the actions as a threat to their safety.

The “door kick challenge” mirrors past pranks like “ding dong ditch,” which tragically resulted in a fatal shooting incident. Law enforcement warns that such activities have serious consequences and can endanger both participants and victims.

In conclusion, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that engaging in criminal acts disguised as harmless pranks can have life-altering outcomes. It serves as a reminder for individuals, especially teenagers, to consider the potential risks and legal implications of their actions before participating in trending challenges.
