Shaquille O’Neal continues to spread holiday cheer with his annual “Shaq-A-Claus” event, but the NBA legend has even bigger plans for the future. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Shaq expressed his desire to expand the event into a 50-state “Shaq-A-Thon.”

The event, which took place in Georgia this year, saw Shaq and his team treating hundreds of kids to free toys and experiences for the holidays. This marks the 24th year that Shaq has hosted the event, but he is far from satisfied. His ultimate goal is to bring the event to every corner of the country, ensuring that kids in every state have a chance to participate.

“I want to get 50 of my biggest friends, and they just take care of where they’re from,” Shaq explained. Known for his generosity, Shaq sees this expansion as a way to continue the legacy of his mother, who instilled in him the importance of giving back.

“Some people call this giving — I call it doing what my mother started, and what she told me to do,” Shaq said. “A lot of kids look up to me. I’m still kind of amazed that I haven’t played basketball in 50 years and kids still look up to me.”

Despite his fame and success, Shaq remains humble and grateful for the opportunities he has been given. “I’ve been fortunate enough because I listen to my parents. I get to live the American dream,” he shared.

In addition to his charitable efforts, Shaq also lightened the mood during the interview with an impromptu spelling bee, with a luxury car on the line. The conversation was filled with laughter and heartwarming moments, showcasing Shaq’s larger-than-life personality and his dedication to making a positive impact in the world.

Overall, Shaq’s vision for a nationwide “Shaq-A-Thon” reflects his commitment to spreading joy and giving back to communities across the country. As he continues to inspire others with his generosity, it’s clear that Shaq’s legacy extends far beyond the basketball court.
