LIV Golf’s Cam Smith recently shared his thoughts on the Ryder Cup, revealing his support for Team Europe. The Australian golfer, who is currently taking a break from the golf course, was at the TMS commentary box in Adelaide when he discussed his admiration for the European team in the prestigious tournament.

When asked about his preference for Team Europe, Smith simply stated, “I don’t know… I like the Europeans, that’s all I say.” He also reflected on his experience representing Australia in the Olympics in 2020, emphasizing the pride and motivation that comes with wearing the national colors.

Smith expressed his belief that there should be more team events in golf, similar to the Ryder Cup, to foster a sense of unity and camaraderie among players from different countries. He highlighted the unique dynamics of team sports and the excitement of representing one’s nation on a global stage.

While the Ryder Cup currently features only American and European golfers, Smith has participated in team events in the past, including the Presidents Cup and the World Cup. He is currently a member of the LIV Golf and has competed in various events on the DP World Tour and Asian Tour.

Recently, Smith was seen posing with cricket legend Ricky Ponting at the Adelaide Oval, with Ripper GC sharing a picture of the two sports icons on Instagram, captioned with the word “Iconic.” Smith, a cricket enthusiast, discussed his love for the sport during his last appearance at the Crown Australian Open, where he finished in second place.

In the LIV Golf season, Smith has showcased impressive performances, with notable finishes in events such as the Riyadh tournament and the Mexico City Open. His consistent play and strong results have solidified his reputation as a top contender on the professional golf circuit.
