Puka Nacua found himself in hot water once again as he took to social media to criticize the referees after the Rams’ 38-37 loss on Thursday Night Football. However, he quickly deleted the post.
The star receiver had a standout performance on the field but expressed his frustration on social media shortly after the Rams’ loss to the Seahawks in overtime. The game ended controversially with a disputed ruling on a two-point conversion that favored Seattle.
“Can you say I was wrong. Appreciate you stripes for your contribution. Lol,” Puka wrote, alluding to his previous comments about referees making calls for TV attention during a stream with Aiden Ross.
Fans urged Nacua to delete the post to avoid potential fines, showing concern for his actions.
Although Nacua did not specify the exact incident that triggered his post, it is likely related to the controversial two-point conversion ruling.
Nacua heeded the advice of his fans and removed the post, explaining that it was simply a moment of frustration.
“Just a moment of frustration,” Nacua stated.

Nacua reflected on missed opportunities and moments that led to relying on officials’ decisions, expressing his belief that the team could have avoided such situations.
Rams head coach Sean McVay was questioned about Nacua’s deleted post during a post-game media session, indicating he was unaware of the incident at that time.
“I can’t answer questions about something that I’m not aware of,” McVay responded. “I have to have more information before I answer any of those kinds of questions.”

The referee controversy comes on the heels of Nacua being criticized for an anti-Semitic dance during a live stream, for which he issued an apology citing ignorance of the offensive nature of his actions.
Despite the off-field distractions, Nacua delivered a stellar performance on the field, recording 12 receptions for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game.
