Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Review: More Of The Same

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G is a smartphone that falls into the competitive mid-range category, offering a mix of impressive features and some drawbacks. With a sleek design that mimics high-end flagships, the device hides its plastic construction well behind a glass-like finish. The weight of 210g gives it a substantial feel without being overly bulky, although the oversized rear camera module can be a bit inconvenient.

Available in titanium, glacier blue, and mist purple colors, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance, making it durable against the elements. The standout feature of the device is its 6.83-inch flat display, offering a resolution of 2772 x 1280 and a peak brightness of 3200 nits. While whites are bright and vivid, color accuracy can be a bit off, with some colors appearing overblown.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Performance is smooth for daily tasks, and gaming is handled well, although there may be occasional stutters during intense gameplay. The 200Mp main camera is a highlight, capturing fine details with precision. However, there are some issues with color accuracy and high-resolution modes.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G excels in battery life, thanks to its massive 6580mAh battery, offering two days of usage on a single charge. The device supports fast charging with a 45W charger included in the box. The software, HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, offers a range of customization options but lacks polish and includes bloatware apps.

Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G is a solid mid-range smartphone with a stellar main camera and exceptional battery life. However, inconsistencies in software and design hold it back from reaching its full potential. With a starting price of £349 in the UK, it competes with other mid-range devices like the Samsung Galaxy A36, Nothing Phone (3a), and Honor 400.
