Patricia Heaton — who played the mom in the hit comedy show “The Middle” — is honoring her late co-star Pat Finn after his passing.
Pat Finn, known for his role as Bill Norwood on “The Middle,” lost his battle with cancer. Patricia shared on Instagram, “One of the finest and funniest human beings I know has left to be with Jesus.”
Patricia mentioned, “Pat Finn, whom most of you know as Bill Norwood on The Middle, had been battling cancer in recent years. At the age of 60, he leaves behind his partner Donna and three children.”
She added, “He was adored by all who knew him, leaving a legacy of love, friendship, and great comedy.” She also mentioned their 2023 movie “Unexpected,” where Pat delivered a memorable performance as a quirky psychiatrist.
She concluded with, “Our hearts are shattered, but as faithful Catholics, we believe we will reunite through God’s grace. Rest in peace, dear brother.”
Sources close to the family revealed that Pat passed away at his Los Angeles home on Monday evening, surrounded by loved ones.
Pat rose to fame during the same era as his close friend Chris Farley, with whom he attended Marquette University, played rugby, and shared a roommate in Chicago while both were part of the Second City comedy troupe.
His most notable role was as Bill Norwood on “The Middle” from 2011 to 2018.
Celebrities like “Modern Family” star Eric Stonestreet and Dane Cook also paid tribute to Pat Finn, along with his daughter Cassidy, who described him as a role model and an inspiration.
The family has set up a GoFundMe to support the financial needs of Finn’s loved ones.
