Brad Pitt’s Skin Line Faces Lawsuit Over Similar Branding to Men’s Wellness Brand Beau D.
Brandon Palas, the founder of men’s wellness brand Beau D., is taking legal action against Brad Pitt’s skin line, “Beau Domaine,” citing similarities in name, typography, design aesthetic, and web presence that closely resemble his protected trademark.
According to an exclusive lawsuit obtained by Radar, the Fight Club star and his partners at the Perrin family initially launched their line under the name “Le Domaine” before rebranding it to a name that Palas claims is too close to his own.
Prior to filing the lawsuit, Palas attempted to settle the matter with Pitt through several options that the actor reportedly considered. “We offered Beau Domaine three private, pre-litigation settlement options, in good faith,” Palas stated. These options included a rebranding of the Pitt’s skin line, compensating Beau D. for the right to continue operating as-is while allowing for differentiation, or funding Beau D.’s rebranding efforts.
While discussions were held regarding financial assistance to help Beau D. change its name, Pitt’s partners were reportedly not interested in rebranding their own line.
The lawsuit highlights the importance of protecting intellectual property and trademarks in the competitive world of wellness and skincare brands. It remains to be seen how this legal dispute will unfold and whether a resolution can be reached between the two parties.
