After the highly-anticipated finale of “Stranger Things” dropped on Netflix, Sadie Sink made an appearance on “The Tonight Show” to discuss her thoughts on the fate of Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Eleven. Sink shared with host Jimmy Fallon her belief that Eleven had met her demise in the finale, leaving her fate purposely ambiguous.

Sink expressed her opinion, stating, “What do I think? I think she’s dead. Is that a hot take or something? Mike’s story is just one last story and then they say goodbye to childhood. That’s one final tale and that’s it. It’s just a coping thing. It’s stronger [that way], right?”

The finale depicted a climactic moment where Eleven sacrifices herself to thwart the military’s efforts to weaponize her powers. However, Finn Wolfhard’s character, Mike, presents a different perspective in the final moments of the show, suggesting that Eleven survived and sought refuge in a remote part of the world. The ambiguity surrounding Eleven’s fate has sparked debate among fans.

Gaten Matarazzo, who portrayed Dustin on the show, shared that he has his own interpretation of Eleven’s ending but prefers to keep it private. He emphasized the importance of viewers forming their own conclusions about the character’s fate, stating, “Whatever works for you and makes the show wrap up better for you is correct.”

Matarazzo also reflected on the tragedy of Eleven’s story, noting that her presence could never guarantee normalcy for the people she loved. The decision to end her story in a certain way was seen as a beautiful choice by the cast and crew.

“Stranger Things” co-creator also weighed in on Eleven’s ending, revealing that there was never a version where she would not be reunited with her friends. The writers carefully crafted the finale to ensure that it felt like the right conclusion for the show.

Overall, the ambiguity surrounding Eleven’s fate in the finale of “Stranger Things” has sparked discussion and debate among fans. As viewers continue to speculate on the character’s ultimate fate, the show’s creators have left room for interpretation, allowing each viewer to draw their own conclusions.
