25-Year-Old Man and Three Juveniles Charged in North Side Robbery
Authorities have reported that a 25-year-old man, Javonni Clark from Zanesville, Ohio, teamed up with three juveniles to commit a robbery at gunpoint on the North Side on Monday night. Clark is scheduled for a detention hearing on Thursday afternoon in connection with the robbery.
The Chicago Police Department disclosed that three boys, aged 15, 16, and 17, were also charged earlier in the week for the same robbery, as well as a second attempted robbery in Lincoln Square. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., where three armed robbers emerged from an SUV in the 6600 block of North Maplewood Avenue, displaying guns and robbing a victim of their wallet before fleeing the scene.
Shortly after the initial robbery, at around 11 p.m., three masked suspects attempted to rob a 42-year-old man in the 2200 block of West Winona Street. Despite their efforts, the suspects were unsuccessful in their attempt and fled the scene in an SUV, similar to the one described by the victims.
Following a search of the area, law enforcement located the SUV and apprehended the three juveniles in the 2500 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue at 11:22 p.m. All three juveniles are facing charges of armed robbery and attempted armed robbery, with the 17-year-old also charged with obstructing identification. Due to the nature of the proceedings, further details about the juveniles are not available as juvenile court records are confidential.
It is important to note that Clark is not implicated in the attempted robbery on Winona Street. The investigation into the incidents is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure justice is served.
