The shooting, which witnesses believe to be gang-related, resulted in one fatality and two others sustaining serious injuries.
Chicago police responded to a call of a person shot at around 10:32 p.m. and discovered two victims inside a Dodge Ram pickup truck parked at KFC on 5852 South Western Avenue. According to reports, a gunman approached the truck, brandished a firearm, and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
A 19-year-old man tragically lost his life after being shot multiple times, while a 22-year-old man was rushed to the University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition with gunshot wounds to his stomach and back.
