Jeremy Shockey is advocating for the New York Giants to make a bold move by hiring John Harbaugh as their next head coach.
The former four-time Pro Bowl tight end, who secured a Super Bowl victory with the Giants in the 2007 season, shared with TMZ Sports his belief that the experienced ex-Ravens coach would be an ideal fit for the team.
“A coach of that caliber with that kind of pedigree and experience doesn’t come around often,” Shockey emphasized, cautioning against pursuing “one-hit wonders” or untested coaching candidates.
Shockey highlighted Harbaugh’s championship-winning background, describing him as “a champion and a winner” and emphasizing that he is currently available for the Giants to consider.
In Shockey’s view, it would be a missed opportunity for the Giants not to pursue Harbaugh for the head coaching position.
While the Giants are among several NFL teams in search of a new coach, they are considered one of the most desirable destinations. With promising young talents like quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cam Skattebo, Shockey sees parallels between Skattebo and himself, expressing his excitement as a Giants fan.
“I’m big fans of both of them, and I’m excited to be a Giants fan myself,” Shockey stated.

In addition to discussing the Giants’ coaching situation, Shockey shared insights on his alma mater, the University of Miami, ahead of their College Football Playoff championship game against the Indiana Hoosiers.
Reflecting on his time as an All-American at Miami during the 2000 season, Shockey expressed optimism for the Hurricanes to reclaim a national title in the near future.
