Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman remains deeply unsettled by the Graham Platner controversy in Maine, expressing lingering frustration towards Bernie Sanders for endorsing Platner’s candidacy.
During a recent public address, Fetterman openly criticized Sanders and questioned the reasoning behind the support Platner received, challenging what others saw in him.
Fetterman has been one of the most vocal critics of Graham Platner within his party.
The Hill reports:
Fetterman voiced his discontent with fellow Democratic senators who supported the progressive insurgent candidate Graham Platner in Maine’s key Senate race, despite concerns over his lack of thorough vetting. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had extensively recruited Democratic Governor Janet Mills for the seat.
Fetterman stated he was “angry” with Bernie Sanders for strongly backing Platner and hesitating to withdraw his support even after The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal highlighted concerning allegations about Platner’s past conduct in early June.
“As a Democrat, I am angry at people like Bernie Sanders, who pushed that accused rapist. Why did so many people on the left embrace that accused rapist?” Fetterman questioned, referring to Platner.
“What was the appeal? Was it the lack of a public service record? The Nazi ink? The outrageous online statements? Was it the incidents with his ex-girlfriends?” he continued.
“Why did you push these people? Why did you buy in and then plunge that most consequential Senate race now into chaos?” Fetterman expressed frustration, arguing that Platner’s campaign collapse has made it “more difficult” to defeat Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and gain Senate control.

This could explain why Fetterman enjoys high approval among Pennsylvania Republicans.

The issue Fetterman raised regarding Bernie Sanders is significant. Have you noticed how quiet Bernie has been lately?
