OSF Saint Anthony, the medical group that employed Michael David McKee, the Illinois surgeon accused of killing his ex-wife and her husband in Ohio, is fully cooperating with the police as the investigation into the double slaying continues.
McKee, a 39-year-old vascular surgeon, was employed by OSF Saint Anthony in Rockford, Illinois, at the time of the heinous crime. Although the medical group did not confirm whether McKee is still employed, his doctor profile does not appear on their website.
The suspected gunman was arrested in Rockford on murder charges for allegedly shooting Spencer and Monique Tepe in their home on Dec. 30. Monique, whom McKee was married to from 2015 to 2017, had an amicable divorce from him. She then married Spencer on Dec. 13, 2020, and they had two children together.
The bodies of Spencer and Monique were found in their Columbus home, while their children, a 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, were unharmed. The attack occurred between 2 and 5 a.m. with no sign of forced entry or a weapon at the scene.
Surveillance footage captured a person of interest near the couple’s home around the time of the killings. Authorities tracked a vehicle from the scene to Rockford, where they found McKee’s car. McKee, who holds medical licenses in Illinois and California, is believed to be the owner of the vehicle.
The motive for the murders remains unknown, as police continue to investigate the tragic incident. OSF Saint Anthony is providing full cooperation to the authorities in the ongoing investigation.
