A man suspected of murdering a 33-year-old artist who was discovered dead at a luxury wellness resort in the Hamptons confessed to the crime just before he took his own life, according to a local coroner. Thomas Gannon, 56, was found dead in his home in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Wayne County Coroner’s Office report confirmed that Gannon was a suspect in the killing of Sabina Rosas, also known as Sabina Khorramdel, whose body was found in Suffolk County, New York.

Rosas, a New York City artist, was found dead at Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill, New York. The Suffolk County Police Department has not disclosed the cause of her death but stated that she was a victim of violence. Gannon admitted to the homicide before taking his own life, as per the Wayne County coroner’s office press release.

Ruyo Journal, an online magazine co-founded by Rosas, released a statement confirming that her death was a result of violence. The magazine also addressed the speculation surrounding her death and her connection to Gannon in recent media coverage.

Authorities have not confirmed the nature of the relationship between Gannon and Rosas, but her mentor, Elizabeth Phillips, mentioned that Gannon financially supported Rosas. In August, Rosas initiated a GoFundMe campaign to attend an artist residency in Portugal, which received a donation of $1,000 from Gannon. The fundraiser has since been removed. Rosas divided her time between Tajikistan and New York, engaging in sound art, intuitive drawing, and paintings.

The article also includes information about the support needed for JS’s journalism work and a message encouraging readers to contribute to keeping journalism free for all.
