The year 2025 was a remarkable one for the AI industry, with a surge in funding rounds for startups. In fact, 49 startups raised funding rounds worth $100 million or more, with some even hitting the $1 billion mark. The momentum continued into 2026, with notable rounds from companies like xAI and Merge Labs.

In December, Mythic from Austin raised $125 million for its power-efficient compute for AI, while Chai Discovery secured $130 million for its biotech and drug discovery AI models. Fal, a generative media platform, announced a $140 million Series D round, and Unconventional AI raised a massive $475 million seed round.

Moving on to November, Genspark, a workspace platform, raised $275 million, while Luma AI secured $900 million for its photo and video creation models. Anysphere raised $2.3 billion for its viral vibe-coding platform Cursor, and Parallel raised $100 million for web infrastructure for AI agents.

In October, Fireworks AI raised $250 million, Uniphore raised $260 million, and Sesame raised $250 million for its voice AI technology. OpenEvidence from Cambridge raised $200 million, Lila Sciences raised $350 million, Reflection AI raised $2 billion, and EvenUp raised $150 million.

September saw Periodic Labs raising $300 million, Cerebras Systems raising $1.1 billion, and Modular securing $250 million in funding. Distyl AI raised $175 million, Upscale AI raised $100 million, Groq raised $750 million, Invisible Technologies raised $100 million, Cognition AI raised $400 million, and Baseten raised $150 million.

In August, EliseAI raised $250 million, while Decart raised $100 million. In July, Fal raised $125 million, Ambience Healthcare raised $243 million, Reka AI raised $110 million, and Thinking Machines Lab confirmed a $2 billion raise. OpenEvidence raised $210 million, Harmonic raised $100 million, and LMArena raised $100 million.

In June, Abridge raised $300 million, Harvey raised $300 million, Tennr raised $101 million, Glean raised $150 million, and Anysphere raised $900 million. In May, Snorkel AI raised $100 million, LMArena raised $100 million, and TensorWave raised $100 million.

In April, SandboxAQ raised $450 million, and Runway raised $308 million. In March, OpenAI raised $40 billion, Nexthop AI raised $110 million, Insilico Medicine raised $110 million, Celestial AI raised $250 million, Lila Sciences raised $200 million, Reflection.Ai raised $130 million, Turing raised $111 million, and Shield AI raised $240 million. Anthropic raised $3.5 billion in a Series E round.

In February, Together AI raised $305 million, Lambda raised $480 million, Abridge raised $250 million, Eudia raised $105 million, EnCharge AI raised $100 million, and Harvey raised $300 million.

In January, ElevenLabs raised $180 million, Hippocratic AI raised $141 million, and Abridge raised $250 million.

The AI industry is showing no signs of slowing down, with groundbreaking funding rounds and innovative technologies emerging regularly. Keep an eye out for more exciting developments in the coming months.
