Donald Trump Criticizes White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s Messaging Skills
Former President Donald Trump recently made a surprise appearance at a White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s briefing, where he criticized her for not effectively communicating his accomplishments. The event took place on January 20, during a two-hour ramble by Trump, who touched on various topics before heading to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum’s conference.
Leavitt, who is pregnant with her second child, had hyped Trump’s appearance on social media, calling him a “very special guest” and touting his achievements during his second term as president. However, Trump seemed less than impressed with Leavitt’s messaging skills, claiming that his administration’s successes were not being adequately conveyed to the public.
During his speech, Trump boasted about his administration’s accomplishments, holding up a large packet titled “365 Wins in 365 Days: President Trump’s Return Marks New Era of Success, Prosperity.” He highlighted the administration’s achievements in the economy, including record stock market performance and lowered prices, but expressed frustration at what he perceived as poor public relations efforts.
Trump also took the opportunity to blame his predecessor, Joe Biden, for leaving behind a “terrible mess” that his administration had to clean up. He credited his administration with strengthening the country’s borders and lowering prices, despite the challenges they faced.
Leavitt, who is expecting a daughter in May with her husband Nicholas Riccio, has been vocal in her support of Trump and the positive work environment he has created. In a previous statement, she expressed gratitude to Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House.
Despite Trump’s criticism of her messaging skills, Leavitt remains dedicated to her role as White House Press Secretary and is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in 2026.
