Savannah Guthrie: Finding Love Again and Embracing Motherhood
After going through a painful divorce with her first husband, Savannah Guthrie found love again with political strategist Michael Feldman. The couple met in 2008 at Feldman’s 40th birthday party and started dating the following year, once Guthrie’s divorce from Orchard was finalized.
In a surprising turn of events, Guthrie announced to viewers of Today in March 2014 that she and Feldman had tied the knot the weekend prior in Arizona, her adopted home state. Not only that, but they were also expecting their first child. Their daughter Vale was born in August 2014, and they welcomed son Charley in December 2016.
During an episode of Joy Rides, Guthrie was asked by Hoda Kotb, “When were you your happiest?” Her response was heartfelt and candid. “I will say, like, the most exquisite feeling of joy I’ve ever felt is when those babies were born. When I laid eyes on those babies, and I heard them cry, and I saw them, and I held them, it was like an all-encompassing,” she shared about the overwhelming joy of becoming a mother.
Guthrie went on to express her deep happiness about parenthood, saying, “I think that for sure, because it was everything I ever wanted. That’s all I ever really wanted.”
