Apple and Google AI Partnership to Bring Major Upgrades to Siri

Recent reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicate that Apple and Google’s AI partnership is set to revolutionize Siri. According to Gurman, Apple is gearing up to unveil a new version of Siri in the coming months, utilizing Google’s Gemini AI models for enhanced performance. This update is expected to fulfill the promises made by Apple back in June 2024, enabling Siri to access user’s personal data and on-screen content to complete tasks efficiently.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Apple has even bigger plans for Siri, with a major upgrade slated for announcement at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. This new version of Siri aims to be more conversational, akin to popular chatbots like ChatGPT, and may potentially run on Google’s cloud infrastructure for seamless operation.

Prior to this partnership, Apple faced challenges in streamlining its AI strategy. Reports suggested internal struggles, with Apple’s Mike Rockwell dismissing earlier claims as inaccurate. However, with the collaboration with Google and the departure of Apple’s AI chief John Giannandrea, it appears that Apple has found a new path forward in the realm of artificial intelligence.
