India all-rounder Axar Patel recently celebrated his third wedding anniversary with his wife Meha Patel, sharing a heartwarming post on Instagram. The couple, who got married on January 26, 2023, in Vadodara, are also proud parents to their son Haksh, born on December 19, 2024.
To mark the special occasion, Axar posted a series of seven pictures on Instagram with a caption that read, “The journey continues…Happy 3 anniversary.”
On the cricketing front, Axar Patel is currently part of India’s squad for the ongoing five-match T20I series against New Zealand. However, during the first T20I in Nagpur on January 21, Axar sustained an injury while fielding off his own bowling in the final over of his spell. As a result, he had to leave the field and did not return for the rest of the match. Subsequently, he missed the next two games, and it remains to be seen if he will make a comeback for the upcoming T20I in Visakhapatnam on January 28.
Despite Axar’s absence, India has already clinched the series with a commanding 3-0 lead, leaving just two matches to be played.
Looking at Axar Patel’s performance in international cricket, he made his debut for India in ODIs back in 2014 against Bangladesh. Since then, he has played 71 matches in the format, taking 75 wickets at an average of 32.81. With the bat, he has scored 858 runs at an average of 23.18.
In T20Is, Axar has featured in 86 matches, picking up 83 wickets at an average of 22.16. He has also contributed with the bat, scoring 686 runs at an average of 19.60. Additionally, Axar has played 15 Tests, taking 57 wickets at an impressive average of 19.66 and scoring 688 runs at an average of 34.40.
Overall, Axar Patel has been a valuable asset to the Indian cricket team with his all-round abilities, and his contributions have played a significant role in the team’s success in various formats of the game.
