In today’s digital age, people worldwide are spending more time than ever on their smartphones. Research shows that the average daily smartphone use exceeds three hours, with many adults spending six hours or more in front of screens. This constant exposure to close-up screens has led to a rise in eye health issues such as dry eyes, eye fatigue, blurred vision, headaches, and worsening nearsightedness.

To address these concerns, a South Korea-based startup called Edenlux has developed technology aimed at improving eye and ear health for individuals with screen-heavy lifestyles. The founder and CEO, Sungyong Park, has a personal connection to vision issues after experiencing temporary paralysis of his eye muscles. This led him to develop technology to help others protect and restore their vision in a world dominated by screens.

Edenlux is set to launch its second wellness device, Eyeary, in the U.S. market. Eyeary is a daily visual recovery tool designed to help users reduce their dependence on reading glasses in a shorter timeframe compared to their first product, Otus. The company operates under the FDA’s wellness category, allowing them to focus on vision training and general eye health.

Eyeary is a sleek and user-friendly device that resembles normal glasses and includes 144 diopter focal points for precise eye-muscle training. It pairs with a mobile app via Bluetooth to track and analyze usage data, allowing for customized training programs based on individual profiles.

Edenlux has a range of products in development, including Tearmore for dry eyes, Lux-S for strabismus, Lumia for myopia prevention, and Heary for auditory recovery. The company has raised significant funding and established a U.S. subsidiary for final assembly of their devices.

Looking ahead, Edenlux aims to collaborate with major tech companies like Apple and Samsung to integrate their vision-protecting technology into smartphones. By combining expertise, cutting-edge technology, and a focus on consumer wellness, Edenlux is at the forefront of addressing eye health challenges in the digital era.
