During lengthy Cabinet meetings, President Trump has been seen closing his eyes in front of the cameras. When asked about this behavior, Trump explained, “It’s boring as hell,” in a recent interview with New York Magazine.
Describing the meetings as tedious, Trump mentioned, “I’m going around a room, and I’ve got 28 guys — the last one was three and a half hours,” highlighting the challenging nature of these sessions which often involve excessive flattery towards him.
He further explained, “I have to sit back and listen, and I move my hand so that people will know I’m listening. I’m hearing every word, and I can’t wait to get out.”
On the other hand, Secretary of State Marco Rubio offered a different perspective, suggesting that Trump’s closed eyes might be a “listening mechanism” in a profile on Trump’s health published in the same magazine.
