Josh Allen recently spoke out in support of Keon Coleman, the second-year receiver for the Buffalo Bills. This comes after Bills owner Terry Pegula publicly criticized the decision to draft Coleman. Allen, who has been the starting quarterback for the Bills since 2018, expressed his confidence in Coleman’s abilities despite the recent controversy surrounding him.

During a press conference, Allen was asked about Coleman’s future with the team following Pegula’s comments. In response, Allen stated, “He will come back from that. I’m not going to give up on Keon Coleman. He’s got too much ability. I will not give up on him. We’re going to work tirelessly, him and me, as well as everybody else in this building to make sure that whenever we step foot on the field, we’re going to find ways to win football games and he’s going to be a part of that.”

Coleman’s selection by the Bills became a point of contention during Pegula’s press conference announcing the firing of head coach Sean McDermott. Pegula mentioned that McDermott’s coaching staff advocated for Coleman while general manager Brandon Beane agreed to the pick. Despite the controversy, Allen remains steadfast in his support for Coleman and believes that he has the potential to succeed in Buffalo.

Following McDermott’s departure, Joe Brady was named as the new head coach of the Bills. Brady, who previously served as the offensive coordinator, was instrumental in the selection of Coleman in the 2024 draft. Coleman’s performance this season has been mixed, with 38 receptions for 404 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. However, he faced discipline issues and was inactive for two games due to tardiness and reduced snaps.

Allen also took partial responsibility for McDermott’s firing, citing his performance in the divisional round defeat as a contributing factor. Despite the challenges, Allen remains optimistic about the team’s future and is committed to working with Coleman to help him reach his full potential. With a new coach at the helm and Allen’s support, Coleman has the opportunity to make a positive impact on the team moving forward.
