A recent incident in the North Park neighborhood has left a pizza delivery driver shaken after being robbed at gunpoint by three suspects. The robbery took place on Friday night in the 5800 block of North Bernard Street. The driver had arrived with a delivery order from a local pizzeria in Rogers Park when the incident occurred.
According to reports, the driver was instructed to call the customer upon arrival. As he made the call, three individuals wearing ski masks approached his vehicle. Two of the suspects brandished pistols and demanded cash along with the food he was delivering. The robbers made off with approximately $60 in cash before the victim, who fortunately was unharmed, returned to the pizza shop to report the crime and call 911 for assistance.
This brazen robbery serves as a reminder of the dangers that delivery drivers face while simply trying to do their jobs. It is essential for businesses and law enforcement to work together to ensure the safety of these workers who provide essential services to communities.
