For Democrats brave enough to venture onto Fox News, the arena was once fraught with the dual perils of ideological opposition and a hostile audience, often composed of the most fervent Republican loyalists. However, a political metamorphosis has been quietly unfolding, spurred by the spectacular collapse of Donald Trump’s second term.

Recent trends suggest that while Fox News remains a bastion for MAGA supporters, the channel is grappling with an exodus of Independents and disenchanted Republicans, all thanks to Trump’s tumultuous legacy.

According to Pew Research, a notable 18%-32% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents are tuning into Fox News, indicating that not all Democrats are averse to engaging with the network.

The American public has increasingly voiced discontent with Trump’s immigration policies, leading to a compelling moment when Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) appeared on Fox News Sunday, decisively debunking the network’s misleading narratives about ICE.

During the segment, host Shannon Bream showcased a clip of Tom Homan, who asserted that ICE exclusively targets criminals, prompting a loaded question about whether Democrats would support local law enforcement collaboration.

The Senator’s response was both pointed and illuminating:

We’re still perpetuating the myth that ICE is only after dangerous individuals. The truth is, right now, 70% of those detained have no criminal record whatsoever.

…

What’s unfolding in Minnesota resembles a dystopian nightmare. ICE is deploying tear gas in elementary schools, snatching legal residents off the streets, and even leading to the deaths of American citizens. In reality, ICE is making this country less secure, not more. This situation is urgent; 60% of Americans are fervently opposed to ICE’s current actions, and it demands our immediate attention.

The Constitution is being trampled upon by this administration as we speak, necessitating a concerted effort over the next two weeks to rein in this rogue and unethical immigration agency.

This is the critical work ahead of us, and it’s my hope that both Republicans and Democrats can unite to address these pressing issues.

But this was merely the beginning of Murphy’s critique, as you can see below.
