Renewed Comedies “Happy’s Place” and “St. Denis Medical” Set for Third Seasons on NBC

Exciting news for fans of comedy on NBC as both “Happy’s Place” and “St. Denis Medical” have been renewed for third seasons, as reported by Variety. The announcement was made by Lisa Katz, president of scripted content for NBC & Peacock, who praised the shows for their comedic brilliance and connection with audiences. She expressed gratitude to the producers, casts, and crews for bringing these hilarious stories to life and continuing to entertain viewers.

NBC’s primetime lineup currently features just four comedies, including the aforementioned shows along with “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” and “Stumble.” All four shows are produced by Universal Television.

“Happy’s Place” is a multi-cam sitcom starring Reba McEntire, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn. The show follows Bobbie (McEntire), who inherits her father’s bar and discovers she has a half-sister (Escobedo). Created by Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott, the show’s executive producers include McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry, and Pamela Fryman.

“St. Denis Medical” is a comedy series that revolves around the staff and patients of a fictional Oregon hospital. The ensemble cast features Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper, and Kaliko Kauahi. Eric Ledgin serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Justin Spitzer, Simon Heuer, Ruben Fleischer, Bridget Kyle, and Vicky Luu also serving as executive producers.

In addition to the renewed comedies, NBC has three comedy pilots in the works, including a private eye show, a comedy about therapists, and the rom-com “Newlyweds.” With a diverse lineup of comedy offerings, NBC continues to deliver laughter and entertainment to viewers.
