A group of intoxicated individuals threw beer cans at police officers during a high-speed car chase in San Bernardino, as reported by authorities. The incident occurred in Yucaipa, a city 15 miles east of San Bernardino, where the individuals were spotted doing reckless maneuvers in a 2010 Infiniti G37 at an intersection.
The reckless behavior led to a pursuit by county police deputies, with the individuals attempting to evade capture by driving at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour and running multiple red lights. The chase eventually ended near Crafton Hills community college, where two passengers in the Infiniti tried to distract the officers by throwing beer cans at them.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Christian Ivan Rios, eventually stopped the car and attempted to flee on foot along with his two passengers, 24-year-old Adrian Adono and 21-year-old Jerry Barrientos. However, all three were apprehended by deputies without any further incident.
The passengers were arrested for public intoxication and resisting a peace officer. Rios, on the other hand, faced more serious charges including felony evading, exhibition of speed, reckless driving, and driving under the influence. Additionally, the Infiniti was impounded for 30 days in accordance with California law following a reckless driving charge.
The entire escapade came to an end with the arrest of the individuals, putting an end to their beer-fueled antics. The authorities have emphasized the dangers of such reckless behavior on the road and the consequences that can follow.
