Mystery Surrounds Disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s Mother
At a Tuesday afternoon briefing, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos admitted that his department is facing a challenging investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of television host Savannah Guthrie. The Sheriff revealed, “We don’t know where she is. Like any investigation, we start at the point where we last saw her, and we work out. We are working as far as we can go.”
The investigation is centered around Nancy’s $1 million Arizona home, which has been returned to the family as the search expands to new areas. Authorities had previously uncovered signs of a “forced entry” at the home, along with the deactivation of a doorbell camera prior to Nancy’s reported abduction.
Savannah Guthrie rushed to Arizona upon learning of her mother’s possible abduction, putting her hosting duties for the Winter Olympics on hold to focus on the ongoing search efforts. Nanos announced that a $2,500 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in connection with Nancy’s disappearance. DNA tests have been conducted, but results are pending and may take several days to be processed.
Although the possibility of a kidnapping ransom has not been ruled out, Sheriff Nanos refrained from disclosing whether any demands have been made. The case continues to baffle investigators as they work tirelessly to unravel the mystery surrounding Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
