Grant Cardone recently defended the Church of Scientology against claims that it is a cult, emphasizing that it is “absolutely not a cult.” He explained that a cult is characterized by a closed, uniform belief system where everyone must adhere to the same beliefs and practices, which is not the case with Scientology.
Cardone clarified that Scientology is not based on L. Ron Hubbard’s beliefs, including Dianetics, as they are separate subjects. He pointed out that Dianetics focuses on the body, while Scientology is concerned with the spirit.
In terms of donations to the church, Cardone revealed that he has contributed around $15 to $18 million but admitted that he is not the biggest donor. Despite his substantial financial support, he emphasized that he is just a member of the church and not involved in its hierarchy.
Contrary to popular belief, Cardone explained that one cannot advance within the church based on financial contributions or recruiting new members. He highlighted that Scientology offers affordable or free courses, but completion of these courses does not guarantee progression within the organization.
Cardone also dispelled the notion that L. Ron Hubbard is worshipped within Scientology, stating that he has never witnessed such behavior in his 25 years of involvement with the church. He emphasized the diverse range of individuals who participate in Scientology courses, including people from different religious backgrounds.
Overall, Cardone emphasized that Scientology is not a cult and highlighted the inclusive nature of the church, where individuals from various walks of life and beliefs can come together to study and learn. He debunked the stereotype of cult-like behavior within Scientology, pointing out the organization’s openness to individuals of all backgrounds.
