The 10th edition of Formula Bharat 2026 recently concluded with great success, showcasing innovation, performance, and collaboration within the student engineering community in India. The event, which serves as the official Formula Student competition in the country, featured over 60 student teams from prestigious institutes across India.
Bringing together the brightest student engineers, leading academic institutions, and industry leaders, Formula Bharat 2026 was supported by sponsors and partners such as MathWorks, DigiKey, Vecmocon Technologies, and Zuken. The event highlighted innovation in design, manufacturing, and next-generation mobility technologies.
Competition Winners
In the Combustion category, Camber Racing from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, emerged as the winner, followed by Eclipse Racing from Thakur College of Engineering & Technology, Mumbai in second place, and Ikshvaku Racing from The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore in third place.
In the Electric category, Veloce Racing from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, claimed the top spot, with Raftar Formula Racing Electric from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, coming in second, and IIT Bombay Racing from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, securing the third position.
Indian Hardware Startup Meet
One of the highlights of Formula Bharat 2026 was the Indian Hardware Startup Meet, which featured 14 startups and facilitated interactions between student teams, startups, venture capitalists, industry leaders, and recruiters. The meet provided a platform for startups to showcase innovations in electric mobility, robotics, drones, advanced manufacturing, energy systems, and assistive technologies, while offering students the opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders.
India’s First Formula Student Autonomous Vehicle Showcase
A significant milestone was achieved at Formula Bharat 2026 when IIT Bombay Racing presented India’s first Formula Student Autonomous Vehicle, showcasing the future of autonomous and intelligent mobility. This achievement paved the way for the introduction of a new category for the 2027 competition – Autonomous vehicles. Registrations for Formula Bharat 2027 will open in March 2026, inviting teams from across the country to participate in the next chapter of innovation and competition.
