Before entering the world of professional Nordic skiing, Lauren Jortberg’s high school classmates at Boulder High School already saw her potential for greatness.

Her 2015 yearbook caption with classmate Christian Feiler predicted their future success as Olympians, stating, “Be on the look-out for these two in the coming years!”

Fast forward eleven years, and Jortberg’s Olympic dream is becoming a reality. However, the road to this achievement was not without its challenges.

After receiving the news of her selection to the United States cross country ski team for the Milan Cortina Games on Jan. 11, Jortberg experienced a mix of anxiety and relief.

Skiers have a three-month “trial period” to prove their worthiness for the Olympic team, which Jortberg successfully navigated by showcasing her skills in various disciplines.

Despite setbacks and injuries earlier in her career, Jortberg’s determination and resilience propelled her towards this momentous achievement.

Now, as she prepares to compete in the upcoming Milano-Cortina Olympic Games, Jortberg remains focused and eager to showcase her abilities on the world stage.

Her journey from Boulder High to Dartmouth to the Olympics is a testament to her hard work and perseverance, proving that talent combined with dedication can lead to extraordinary success.

With the Games just days away, Jortberg is excited to represent her country and make her mark in the classic sprint event.

As supporters gather for a watch party in Boulder, Jortberg is ready to seize the moment and give her all on the Olympic stage.

Her story is a reminder that with passion, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of goals, anything is possible.
