The FBI has launched an investigation into a series of threatening letters directed at Savannah Guthrie regarding the abduction of her mother, Nancy. One disturbing letter, supposedly from someone with inside information about the alleged kidnapping, also made references to the U.S. Capitol riot and Luigi Mangione, the accused killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO.
These letters, along with alleged ransom demands, have caught the attention of law enforcement since Nancy was reportedly taken from her Tucson, Arizona home on January 31. A ransom note demanding “millions” in Bitcoin payments was received by TMZ, which was promptly turned over to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Tucson TV station KOLD 13 News also received a similar email that was forwarded to authorities for investigation.
Nancy was last seen after being dropped off at home by her daughter and son-in-law. When she failed to attend church the following day and her belongings were found at home, her family reported her missing. Despite extensive searches and investigations, there have been no significant leads or motives discovered in the case.
Authorities have ruled out the possibility that Nancy wandered off, citing her sharp mental faculties but physical limitations. Blood was found inside Nancy’s home, and visible blood splatters were still present on her porch days after her disappearance. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos urged the perpetrator to come forward and release Nancy, emphasizing that no questions would be asked.
Savannah Guthrie has made emotional pleas on social media for the safe return of her mother, asking for prayers from her followers. NBC has increased security measures for their on-air talent, partnering with the NYPD to ensure the safety of their staff. The tense atmosphere at the studio was acknowledged by co-host Sheinelle Jones, who expressed the collective shock and concern over Nancy’s alleged kidnapping.
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing Nancy Guthrie home safely. The search for answers and closure in this troubling case remains ongoing.
