Police in River North are currently investigating a terrifying incident in which a 29-year-old man was reportedly forced into an SUV outside a nightclub and robbed at gunpoint.
The victim was standing outside a nightclub on West Ontario Street when two men emerged from a dark-colored SUV and approached him around 4:45 a.m. According to reports, the men then coerced the victim into the vehicle.
Once inside the SUV, the robbers brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s personal belongings. They then drove a short distance to West Illinois Street, where the victim was released unharmed. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal.
The victim believes he was targeted while outside Sound-Bar nightclub, and described the robbers as two Black men dressed in black clothing and ski masks. Investigators are currently looking into the possibility that the vehicle involved in the incident was a black Hyundai Santa Fe.
