The team reported that Antonelli immediately contacted the police following the crash, and his vehicle was the only one involved in the incident.
Thankfully, Antonelli escaped the accident unscathed. However, the Mercedes AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ Motorsport Collectors Edition he was driving sustained significant damage.
While Antonelli escaped injury, the rarity of the car he crashed is a cause for concern. Only 200 units of the Mercedes AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ Motorsport Collectors Edition were ever produced, making it a prized possession among enthusiasts.
The Mercedes supercar boasts a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine capable of generating 612 horsepower, with an estimated value of around $245,000.
Despite the crash, Antonelli is expected to participate in preseason testing in Bahrain as he prepares for his second season with Mercedes.
In the previous season, Antonelli competed in 24 races alongside George Russell, achieving three podium finishes.
