Jaden Michael has landed a role in the upcoming Hulu young adult drama pilot “Foster Dade,” as reported exclusively by Variety. The pilot, which was greenlit by Hulu in August, is based on the Nash Jenkins novel “Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos.” Michael joins previously announced lead Jack Alldridge, as well as a talented cast including Chloe East, Cameron Mann, Matt Bomer, Heather Burns, Wyatt Aubrey, Olivia Campos-Tarantino, and Vinny Chhibber.
The show is described as a sophisticated mystery set at an East Coast boarding school, delving into themes of privilege, scandal, sexuality, and masculinity against the backdrop of social media, millennial anxiety, and pharmaceuticals.
In “Foster Dade,” Jaden Michael will portray the character of Mark Stetson, one of the only openly gay students at Kennedy. Stetson, who hails from a wealthy background, is pursuing his passion for acting.
Michael, known for his lead role in the Prime Video series “Harlan Coben’s Shelter” and his portrayal of a young Colin Kaepernick in the Netflix limited series “Colin in Black & White,” has also appeared in projects like “The Get Down,” “Vampires vs. The Bronx,” and “Wonderstruck.” He will soon be seen in Tyler Perry’s upcoming Netflix film “Why Did I Get Married Again?”
Represented by Linden Entertainment, Gersh, and Yorn Levine Barnes, Jaden Michael is set to make his mark in “Foster Dade,” which is being written and executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran. The pilot will be directed by Daniel Minahan, with executive producers including Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Donald De Line, Robbie Rogers, and Nash Jenkins. Warner Bros. Television, under Berlanti’s overall deal, serves as the studio for the project.
