The family of the late Virginia Giuffre, who publicly accused convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and former Prince Andrew of sexual abuse and tragically died by suicide, is speaking out after the arrest of Prince Andrew on Thursday.
Virginia’s brother, Sky Roberts, and sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, expressed their feelings of relief and justice upon hearing the news of Prince Andrew’s arrest. In an interview with NBC, they described it as a “surreal moment” and a long-awaited “piece of justice” that Virginia had been fighting for.
The Roberts family also released a statement to CBS, saying, “At last, today, our broken hearts have been lifted at the news that no one is above the law, not even royalty.” They expressed their gratitude to the U.K.’s Thames Valley Police for taking action, asserting, “He was never a prince. For survivors everywhere, Virginia did this for you.”
Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, was arrested on suspicions of misconduct in public office for allegedly sharing confidential information with Epstein during his time as a member of the royal family. King Charles III has pledged his full support and cooperation with the authorities in this matter.
The connection between Prince Andrew and Epstein has been a long-standing controversy, with images surfacing of Prince Andrew in compromising positions. Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles in late 2025 due to public outrage over his association with Epstein, a move that Virginia’s family praised at the time.
Virginia Giuffre was one of the first to come forward and accuse Epstein of abuse, alleging that she was recruited into his sex trafficking ring by Ghislaine Maxwell at the age of 16. Maxwell was found guilty on multiple counts of sex trafficking in 2021, while Epstein died by suicide in 2019 before facing trial.
Tragically, Virginia Giuffre passed away in April 2025 at the age of 41. Despite the official ruling of suicide, her father maintains that she did not take her own life.
The arrest of Prince Andrew serves as a significant moment for Virginia Giuffre’s family, bringing a sense of closure and vindication after years of fighting for justice. As the legal proceedings unfold, the family continues to honor Virginia’s memory and legacy in the ongoing pursuit of accountability for all involved in the Epstein scandal.
