Colorado Buffaloes Announce Black & Gold Day for April 11
Colorado’s annual Black & Gold Day has been scheduled for April 11, showcasing the conclusion of head coach Deion Sanders’ fourth spring with the Buffaloes. The spring game, set for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Folsom Field, will be a highlight of the event.
This year, there is no admission fee for the spring game, but tickets must be claimed in advance. Starting on March 3 at 10 a.m., fans can secure their tickets at app.cubuffs.com/blackandgold2026.
The Buffs will kick off their spring practice on March 2 with high hopes for the upcoming season. With key players like redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Lewis and receiver Joseph Williams returning, along with a roster boasting over 50 newcomers, expectations are running high.
One of the main attractions of this year’s Black & Gold Day will be the debut of Ralphie VII at the spring game, weather permitting. The gates for the game will open at 11 a.m., allowing fans to witness this special moment.
As part of the festivities, CU will host the annual Field Day presented by Children’s Hospital Colorado, Jr. Buffs Spirit Clinic, and provide fans with the opportunity to meet the football team for autographs and photos.
Coach Prime has set attendance records with his previous spring games, with sold-out crowds at Folsom Field in 2023, 2024, and 2025. This year’s event promises to be another exciting milestone for the Buffaloes.
Prior to Coach Prime’s tenure, the record attendance for the spring game was 17,800 in 2008, highlighting the impact he has had on the program.
