In an internal email, the Trump campaign has acknowledged the possibility of losing the election tomorrow. Axios reported that behind the bravado, the campaign is preparing staff members for the potential of winding down operations while privately recognizing that Trump may not emerge victorious on Election Day.

The email, titled “Donald J. Trump Administrative Update,” sent by co-campaign manager Susie Wiles, outlines post-election plans with phrases like “should we be victorious,” “regardless of the outcome of the election,” and “God willing,” indicating an awareness that the race could go either way.

This marks a significant departure from the events of 2020, where Trump preemptively claimed that any loss would be due to election fraud. Following the election, Trump has continued to deny his defeat, fueling conspiracy theories that led to the fake elector plot and the violent attack on the Capitol on January 6th.

While the campaign may be preparing for a potential loss, it does not rule out Trump declaring victory on election night or contesting the results in court. Legal battles are already underway in states like Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The 1/6 Committee’s investigation revealed that some individuals close to Trump were more grounded in reality than the former president himself. However, the gap between Trump and reality appears to have widened, with even the campaign acknowledging that Kamala Harris may have a stronger chance of winning than Donald Trump unless a last-minute turnaround occurs.

Despite the uncertainties surrounding the election outcome, the Trump campaign seems to be bracing for the possibility of defeat. To engage in further discussions on this topic, readers are encouraged to join the conversation on Reddit.

As the election draws near, the political landscape remains uncertain, with both candidates and their supporters preparing for any possible outcome.
