A 27-year-old woman, Eboni Evans, has been charged with shooting a man in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood on Friday night. The incident took place near her home in the 100 block of West Maple Street, as reported by Chicago police.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred during what seemed to be a domestic-related dispute that turned physical around 10:14 p.m. in the Gold Coast neighborhood. During the altercation, a handgun was produced, and a single shot was fired, hitting a 40-year-old man in his left foot. An evidence technician recovered a firearm from inside a vehicle at the scene.
Chicago Fire Department paramedics provided treatment to the injured man at the scene before transporting him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was reported to be in good condition.
Eboni Evans was taken into custody by officers at the scene. An initial search revealed that she was licensed to carry a concealed firearm. She is scheduled for a detention hearing on Monday in connection with the incident.
