Bill Maher Expresses Assassination Fears While Touring
Comedian Bill Maher recently shared his concerns about the current political climate, expressing his fear of potential violence while touring. In a podcast interview, Maher discussed the deepening divide between the red and blue sides in America, stating, “I mean, I just wouldn’t want to be out there in the atmosphere we live in today. I mean, it’s just, it’s chippy out there.”
Despite his unease with the “woke” progressive wing of the Democratic party, Maher admitted that he fears Republicans more than Democrats. He criticized the Democrats for their extreme views and unwillingness to engage in meaningful dialogue, but ultimately found them less alarming than the Republicans who reject basic principles of democracy, such as conceding elections.
Addressing his stance on calling out both parties, Maher emphasized the importance of holding politicians accountable, regardless of their political affiliation. He highlighted the lack of willingness in Hollywood to criticize both sides, stating, “And I live in Hollywood, this town just does not believe that. They do not believe in calling out both sides.”
As Maher navigates the politically charged atmosphere of today, his candid remarks serve as a reminder of the need for constructive discourse and mutual respect in a polarized society.
