Ramadan Ondash, the Lebanese firecracker, recently faced his first promotional loss against Aliff Sor Dechapan in a strawweight Muay Thai battle at ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video last December. Despite feeling like he had control over the fight for three rounds, one pivotal moment changed everything for the 19-year-old.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Ramadan Ondash opened up about the fight and admitted that he believed he was winning the three rounds until the flying knee from Aliff knocked him down, ultimately leading to his defeat. He expressed his frustration with the rules in ONE Championship, where getting knocked down has a significant impact on the outcome of the fight.

During the intense nine-minute war at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Ramadan Ondash showcased his striking skills with powerful punching combinations while Aliff used his height and reach advantage to keep him at bay with teeps. However, in round two, Aliff’s strategic approach and well-timed flying knee proved to be the deciding factor in the fight.

In the same interview, Ramadan Ondash criticized Aliff for his defensive tactics, claiming that he was running too much in the ring and avoiding engaging in a true battle. Despite the loss, Ondash acknowledged Aliff’s smart and strategic approach to counter his aggressive style.

The defeat marked the end of Ramadan Ondash’s perfect 4-0 record in ONE Championship, while Aliff improved his promotional record to 9-2 with five consecutive wins since his previous losses in late 2023 and early 2024.

Overall, the fight between Ramadan Ondash and Aliff Sor Dechapan was a testament to the competitive nature of Muay Thai, showcasing the skills and strategies of both fighters. While Ondash felt like he was in control for most of the fight, Aliff’s well-executed game plan ultimately led to his victory. The young Lebanese star will undoubtedly learn from this experience and come back stronger in future competitions.

The sports world eagerly awaits Ramadan Ondash’s next move as he looks to bounce back from this setback and continue his rise in the world of Muay Thai. Stay tuned for more updates on his journey in ONE Championship and beyond.
