Police Release Video of Suspect in Shooting Death of Millionaire Philanthropist

Authorities in Montgomery County, Maryland, have released surveillance video footage of a suspect in the shooting death of 87-year-old millionaire philanthropist, Robert Fuller Jr. Fuller was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head inside his apartment at the Cogir Potomac Senior Living facility on February 14. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

The released video shows an individual with long dark hair walking away from the camera in an outdoor area of the senior living facility. Police have stated that the person shown in the video is considered a suspect in Fuller’s death, although there is currently no clear description of the suspect’s gender or race.

Investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the suspect. Anyone who recognizes the clothing worn by the individual or can identify any distinguishing characteristics, including the person’s gait, is asked to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County. A reward ranging from $250 to $10,000 may be eligible for information leading to an arrest.

Robert Fuller Jr.: A Philanthropic Legacy

Robert Fuller Jr., a retired Navy Reserve officer and successful attorney from Augusta, Maine, was known for his philanthropic endeavors in the community. Fuller made significant donations to various organizations, including the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, MaineGeneral Medical Center, Kennebec Historical Society, Cony High School, Kennebec Valley YMCA, Old Fort Western, and a local library.

One of Fuller’s notable contributions was a donation of over $1.6 million to modernize the athletic complex of Cony High School in Augusta. The project, which had faced financial challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, was completed with Fuller’s support, leading to the naming of the athletic field in his honor.

Fuller’s philanthropy extended to preserving local history and supporting healthcare facilities in the community. His sudden and tragic death has left a void in the hearts of those who benefited from his generosity.
