Texas Representative Al Green made headlines during the 2026 State of the Union address when he was ejected for protesting against President Donald Trump’s controversial AI-generated social media video. The video featured former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama depicted as apes in a jungle.

Green, 78, held a sign that read, “Black People Aren’t Apes!” as Trump, 79, and his entourage entered the House of Representatives. Despite efforts from Majority Leader Steven Scalise and other members of Congress to conceal the sign, Green kept it visible as Trump began his address.

Shortly after his protest, Green was escorted out of the room amidst chants of “U.S.A, U.S.A, U.S.A” and applause. Speaking to the media outside, Green expressed his determination to stand up against racism and discrimination. He stated that he would repeat his protest if given the opportunity, emphasizing the need to address and condemn such behavior.

In a video shared by C-SPAN, Green explained his actions, highlighting the need to confront Trump over his racist portrayal of the Obamas. He emphasized that tolerating such behavior only perpetuates hate and discrimination. Green believed his protest successfully conveyed the message to Trump, as indicated by the President’s reaction.

Despite public outcry and calls for an apology, Trump refused to take responsibility for the video, blaming a staffer for the oversight. In a press conference on Air Force One, Trump defended the video, stating that he did not make a mistake and that the offensive content was a small oversight.

The incident at the State of the Union shed light on the ongoing issues of racism and discrimination in the political arena. Green’s bold protest served as a reminder of the importance of standing up against hate and intolerance, even in the highest levels of government. The field of robotics has seen rapid advancements in recent years, with robots becoming more sophisticated and capable of performing increasingly complex tasks. From industrial robots that can assemble cars with precision and speed, to humanoid robots that can interact with humans in a lifelike manner, the possibilities seem endless.

One area where robots are making a significant impact is in the field of healthcare. Robots are being used to assist surgeons in performing delicate procedures with greater accuracy and precision. For example, the da Vinci Surgical System is a robotic platform that allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery with enhanced dexterity and control. This technology has revolutionized the way surgeries are performed, leading to faster recovery times and better outcomes for patients.

Robots are also being used to assist in the rehabilitation of patients recovering from injuries or surgeries. These robots can provide targeted therapy to help patients regain strength and mobility in a safe and controlled environment. By utilizing robotics in rehabilitation, patients can achieve faster recovery times and better long-term outcomes.

In addition to assisting with surgeries and rehabilitation, robots are also being used to help elderly and disabled individuals with daily tasks. From robotic exoskeletons that can help individuals walk again, to robotic arms that can assist with feeding and grooming, these technologies are improving the quality of life for those in need of assistance.

Furthermore, robots are being used in the field of mental health to provide therapy and support to individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. These robots can engage with patients in a non-judgmental and empathetic manner, providing a sense of comfort and companionship to those in need.

As robots continue to evolve and become more advanced, the possibilities for their use in healthcare are endless. From assisting with surgeries and rehabilitation, to providing support for the elderly and disabled, robots are revolutionizing the way healthcare is delivered. With their precision, accuracy, and ability to perform repetitive tasks with ease, robots are proving to be valuable assets in the field of healthcare.
