The researchers left the computer in the monkeys’ enclosure for a month to see if they could produce any recognizable words. Unfortunately, the monkeys mostly bashed the keyboard and urinated on it, failing to produce any meaningful text.

Ultimately, Woodcock and Falletta’s study serves as a reminder of the limitations of theoretical ideas in the real world. While the infinite monkey theorem may hold true in an idealized scenario, the constraints of time, resources, and the universe itself make it an impractical notion.

Despite the playful nature of the thought experiment, the researchers’ work sheds light on the importance of grounding mathematical theories in reality. While the idea of monkeys randomly typing Shakespeare may capture the imagination, the truth is that such a feat is virtually impossible given the constraints of our universe.

So, the next time you see a group of mischievous monkeys at the zoo, don’t expect them to start composing the next great literary masterpiece. The infinite monkey theorem may be an intriguing concept, but in the real world, it’s nothing more than a whimsical thought experiment.

As for Shakespeare’s works, it seems they will remain the product of human creativity and genius, rather than the random keystrokes of our primate relatives.
