Nicki Minaj
Dropped by Lawyer After Blowing Off Texts, Emails

Nicki Minaj has been dropped by her attorney in one of her legal cases due to a breakdown in communication. This comes as she faces a $10 million lawsuit, according to court documents.
The rapper’s lawyer, Matthew Abbott, has filed legal papers requesting to withdraw from representing Nicki in a lawsuit brought by a fan named Tameer Peak.
Tameer has previously sued Nicki, alleging false accusations of criminal behavior and stalking in September 2025, as well as slander in August 2024.
Recently, Matthew, who represents a new management company hired by Nicki, requested an extension from the court to allow her time to find a replacement lawyer to handle the case.
Matthew revealed that Nicki’s previous lawyer, Judd Burnstein, abruptly withdrew from representing her.
In the court filing, Matthew stated that the management company he works for has been unable to reach Nicki for several months. Despite multiple attempts via text and email, there has been no response from Nicki or her accountants.
Despite efforts to contact Nicki, there has been no response to text and email messages from Matthew’s company.
The judge has yet to make a decision on the request, but has set a deadline for Nicki to respond to the motion to withdraw from the case.
