Angelina Jolie’s Son Maddox Changes Name for Film Credit
24-year-old Maddox Jolie-Pitt recently made headlines for his role as an assistant director on an upcoming film starring his mother, Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie. The film follows the story of an American director who is diagnosed with breast cancer while working on a video for Paris Fashion Week in France.
His name change is a departure from his previous credit on the 2024 drama Maria, where he also worked alongside his mother who played the role of opera diva Maria Callas. The film was directed by Pablo LarraÃn.
Maddox and his younger brother Pax, 22, both served as set production assistants on Maria and were credited with the “Jolie-Pitt” surname. This name change reflects Maddox’s individuality and independence in the film industry.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who tied the knot in 2014 before parting ways in 2016, have six children together, including Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
In a similar move, Shiloh, who turned 18 in May 2024, also filed paperwork to legally change her name to Shiloh Jolie. This decision showcases the children’s desire to establish their own identities separate from their famous parents.
