Connor Storrie, known for his role as Russian hockey player Ilya Rozanov on the popular TV series “Heated Rivalry,” made his debut as the host of “Saturday Night Live” with a monologue that focused on giving credit to the women’s USA hockey team. Storrie took the opportunity to address the recent controversy surrounding the men’s team and President Donald Trump during the Olympics.

In his monologue, Storrie humorously referenced the success of “Heated Rivalry” and the impact it has had on viewers. He then brought out Quinn and Jack Hughes, stars of the USA men’s hockey team, who jokingly mentioned their busy schedule during the Olympics.

The exchange between Storrie and the Hughes brothers led to the surprise appearance of USA women’s hockey stars Megan Keller and Hilary Knight. The women’s team had declined an invitation to the State of the Union address after Trump’s controversial remarks.

The interaction on stage highlighted the unity and support among the hockey players, regardless of gender. Storrie congratulated both teams on their achievements at the Olympics, with Knight and Quinn Hughes sharing some lighthearted banter about their gold medals.

The monologue ended on a playful note, with Storrie jokingly asking if he could touch a gold medal, to which the players responded with a resounding “No.”

The inclusion of both the men’s and women’s USA hockey teams in Storrie’s monologue served as a reminder of the importance of solidarity and recognition in sports. The humorous and light-hearted tone of the segment added a touch of camaraderie to the show.
