Brooklyn High School Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Groping Teenage Student
A Brooklyn high school teacher, Steven Schnee, was arrested this week for allegedly groping a 16-year-old girl while making inappropriate comments about her appearance. The incident took place at the Lafayette Educational Complex in Gravesend, where Schnee was caught touching the teen’s leg and making lewd remarks.
Schnee reportedly told the girl, “You’re beautiful” and “I like your butt” during the disturbing incident, which led to his arrest on charges of forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child, sexual abuse, and harassment.
His arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending as of Thursday, and it was not immediately clear where Schnee was assigned within the Lafayette Educational Complex.
The city’s Department of Education has not yet provided a comment on the matter, but the arrest has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students in the school.
