Ryan Gosling took the stage as the host of “Saturday Night Live” for the fourth time, ahead of the release of his upcoming sci-fi movie “Project Hail Mary.” As he began his monologue, he was surprised by none other than Harry Styles, who was seated in the audience with a smile on his face.
Gosling jokingly questioned Styles’ presence, exclaiming, “What are you doing here, man? I just wish someone would have told me!” The actor went on to talk about his new film, describing it as a mix between “E.T.” and “Interstellar,” two of the best films of all time. He humorously added, “Kind of like saying it’s like, what, double that?”
As the camera kept cutting to Styles, Gosling playfully asked, “I’m sorry, why are we on Harry Styles?” The two stars then engaged in a hilarious skit where Gosling was joined by the “SNL” cast dressed as aliens, singing Styles’ “Sign of the Times” before transitioning into “I’m Just Ken” from “Barbie.”
Styles will be hosting the show and serving as the musical guest next week, much to the delight of fans. Gosling expressed his gratitude to the cast members for their support, only to be told by Kenan Thompson that they were actually just there to get a better look at Harry.
This isn’t the first time Gosling has graced the “SNL” stage, having previously hosted in 2015, 2017, and in 2024. During his last appearance, he couldn’t contain his laughter during a Beavis and Butt-Head sketch.
“Project Hail Mary,” set to premiere on March 20, also stars Sandra Huller. Fans can catch a glimpse of Gosling’s monologue on the show’s official website. It was a night filled with laughter, surprises, and a touch of alien-themed fun, setting the stage for what promises to be an entertaining season of “Saturday Night Live.”
