Wild Sheep Content, a Los Angeles-based production and packaging company founded by former Netflix VP Head of International Originals Erik Barmack and partnered by The Mediapro Studio, has recently joined the team behind “Where Is She?” This six-part YA mystery thriller is set to be a Globoplay Original and is created by Brazilian filmmaker Fabricio Bittar, known for his successful movie “Unexplainable” (“Inexplicável”) which garnered over 20 million views on Netflix in 2025.
Despite initially being sold to Netflix for Latin America and Portugal, “Unexplainable” managed to reach Netflix’s Global Non-English Top 3. Fabricio Bittar directed and co-wrote the film, with Lucas Veiga producing under Brazil’s Clube Filmes, which is also behind the upcoming series “Where Is She?”
Based on the bestselling crime novel “Quando Ela Desaparecer” by Victor Bonini, “Where Is She?” follows the story of Kika, a 16-year-old girl who goes missing during a school trip. The search for her leads to shocking revelations about her school and puts innocent lives at risk. The narrative unfolds in two timelines, one in 2012 and another in 2019, building up to two major plot twists.
Barmack emphasized the growing demand for character-driven stories focusing on young protagonists and moral ambiguity in the global market. He also highlighted the relevance of the series in addressing social issues and youth representation in Brazil.
The setting of “Where Is She?” in Parque CECAP, a social-housing complex in Guarulhos, São Paulo state, adds a unique dimension to the story by portraying a seemingly stable community torn apart by a mysterious disappearance. The series explores themes of social interaction, power dynamics, and the hidden truths that shape people’s lives.
